Thanks to Wild-n-Free for this great article explaining the controversy surrounding my collaborative exhibition with Carla Ori aka Biscotti. Nothing like a dildo to make the news - thanks Australian conservatives, lol.
'Like Heaven In The Movies'
My collaboration with Carla Ori is being launched this Friday 3rd of Feb 'Like Heaven In The Movies.' The exhibition is a series of still life photos, each image is a constructed reality, employing a specific mix of cultural references and personal experiences into unique narratives . The series takes stylistic notes from retro cinema and advertising, exploring a combination of colour, composition and commercially produced objects to create a suspended reality”
Lost At E Minor
I was recently interviewed in an article on 'Lost at E Minor'. I had heaps of fun chatting to Cormack O'Connor - Writing and Photography about my work, colour theory, culture, web platforms and future plans.

Poster Boy
My latest portrait series titled ‘Poster Boy’ is well under way. This series will explore contemporary masculinity and the role of the visual image, offering a critical voice on how we represent and reproduce visions of masculinity.
This project will draw upon the cultural legacy and visual language of advertising. Through a collaborative process each image/poster will explore personal narratives of men, seeking to re-inscribe the personal.
In each poster the subject will hold an object they have chosen to pose with, something that embodies a kind of masculinity prescribed within the social milieu of their teen years. The headline will be a statement supplied by each subject offering a first-hand account of how they felt about this object, what is says about mainstream masculinity and their personal relationship to it.
PITCH Feature
Delighted to have my still life series titled Object/Reflect feature on PITCH-PRESENT. Accompanying the five images in this series is a great piece detailing my profile as an artist and the themes explored in my most recent work. Check it out at http://pitch-present.com/filter/photography/OBJECT-REFLECT-ALICE-HUTCHISON
Object/Reflect
Object/Reflect was a one night exhibition and small publication launch. This project showcased my photographic series of still lifes Object/Reflect which were presented in bespoke acrylic displays. The small publication contained short poems/essays by five talented writers; meditating on the personal and idiosyncratic nature of objects and their capacity to inspire reflection. This work was featured in Pitch, SPOOK MAGAZINE and Broadsheet.
HE
This is the first photo of a series of male portraits that looks at male form from a female perspective in an attempt to represent male gender in contrast to more typical representations of masculinity - the hero, sexual icon and athlete.

Teamed up with musician Biscotti "Melbourne’s own International Electro Hip-Pop kooky beat maker" to do a series of promotional images. Always fun working with the amazing Carla Ori!
